During our birthdays we have booked a stay in a fancy hotel called Hard Rock Hotel Penang. It is a fancy hotel located in the beach area of the island Batu Ferringhi. Alena is in charge of bookings and she spent some time investigating the hotels. 

To compare we have spent about 3k sek for 1 month of stay in Georgetown and we paid 3200 sek for 3 nights in the hotel. The breakfast was awesome! the room was OK for the level of the hotel. TV had free movies and a lot of music. Of course everything was done in music theme and it was not invasive (as we are not much of rock fans). The best part was the swimming pool for Alisa - it was great way to spend the hot hours of the day. I also used the gym once. We liked the experience so much that we tried to return there to the pool without booking room, but it was impossible, the pool is only for guests. 

In general it is good to vary your experiences so they don't start being boring, specially if you spend one month in the same place and you don't need google maps to navigate the city anymore.
