This is our third time in Vietnam and every time there is some food that I enjoy the most. The first time it was beef Pho, we tried to order it everywhere we go and it is on the menu in almost every place. I couldn't get enough of it. Last time I don't really remember what it was but I know that it influence the current visit a lot. I think the second visit we enjoyed some kind of grilled oysters which we couldn't find again ever since. They were grilled with peanuts, garlic, some sasses and greens, served on their shells. Very tasty but everywhere we try to order same looking dish it tastes different.
This time though I can't get enough of Banh Mi!!! I can eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and 2 times for a snack. Pretty much any banh mi I tried in Hoi An I enjoyed. Basically it is a sandwich in a French baguette but what's inside I don't know. I simply say "with everything" when I order and to be honest I don't want to know. There is plenty of meat, greens, fat, chilly, pate and some other mysterious liquids that they pour for taste. It tastes delish! damn, why can't we do something similar in Gbg?
