It has been a few months now since we came back from our last travel - summer vacation in the middle of Europe. Since then we have been sticking to Sweden, settling a little. The weather was beautiful most of the time and we enjoyed time outside.
Kindergarten
In the beginning of August Alisa started at a swedish municipal kindergarten(KG). We have met with the teachers, had a talk and saw the premises of the KG before the summer and we were impressed by the quality and by the content based on what the teacher told us. But in reality once the kg started it was totally different - the kids didn't get almost any attention, the teachers were lacking communication skills even among themselves, not to mention to kids. We have spent 1 week during the 'inskolning' process (when parents stay for part of the whole day together with their child) and we saw firsthand how disfunctional the kg is. It took Alisa about 2 or 3 weeks before the stopped crying in the morning when we dropped her off at the kg. And we continued applying to other kg's in town which had good reviews based on our friends and internet. Eventually not long after we got a spot at the International preschool. She started there immediately and fell in love with the preschool from the first day. She is now going there with great joy and keeps talking about it at home too.
It is a bit far from home but we find ways to get here there in time. It takes about 40 minutes of bus ride, run or bike :)
Turning 2
Alisa turned 2 in October and it is super nice to experience how she develops from day to day. How many different words she can say and put them into meaningful sentences. Amazing experience. We wish we could spend more time with her because she is most of the day at kindergarten and then there is not much time left before she goes to sleep.
