We have a car here in Malaysia for the whole period of of our stay. It only costs 4000 sek (approx) for 1 month + 2000 sek deposit in case I do some damage to it. When we picked up the car at the airport they were very thorough to point out to me every scratch on the car even the smallest one which seemed like a bird flew by it and 'scratched it' with its wing. I wonder if they will 'find' any new scratches on the car when we will return it. I will let you know.
The post is about parking. So far we were parking during the day time at a big mall in the city center and everything is just about 10 min walking from there, so it is convenient. Yesterday we had to park on a street and use the parking payment process which I find interesting.
When we picked up the car at the airport the guy at the desk gave me a few scratch cards with a lot of numbers on them and he explained a bit that these were parking cards. They look like that:
You need to scratch the date when you park your car and then each ticket lasts for either 30 min (green) or 1 hour (yellow). A stack of these cards costs only 8 sek and there are a few hours of parking in there.
I thought it's a nice way of paying for parking.
